Toronto, April 23, 2026 — Forum Asset Management (“Forum”) has been selected through a competitive open market offer process, led by Infrastructure Ontario on behalf of the Government of Ontario, to build two transit-oriented residential towers at the northeast and southeast corners of King Street West and Bathurst Street in Toronto’s King West Village neighbourhood.
The development is part of Ontario’s Transit-Oriented Communities program and marks a major milestone in the government’s plan to build vibrant, mixed-use communities within a short distance of transit. The towers will integrate with the future King West Station on the Ontario Line, a transformative transit expansion that will bring more than 15-kilometres of new subway service to Toronto.
Forum is a recognized leader in purpose-built rental housing, with a national portfolio of student housing, multifamily, and mixed-use communities designed to deliver long-term, stable housing supply. Over its 30-year history, Forum has built a strong track record of delivering complex public-private partnership (P3) projects in collaboration with government and institutional partners that bring together capital, development expertise, and community-focused design to deliver infrastructure and housing at scale.
The project will deliver up to 680 purpose-built rental units across approximately 400,000 square feet of residential space, with two towers rising to approximately 25 storeys. The sites will retain key heritage buildings to enhance the character of this vibrant neighbourhood.
This community will reflect a transit-first approach, with bicycle parking spaces and no vehicle parking, leveraging the direct connection to rapid transit and proximity to high-frequency streetcar service.
We’re proud to be entrusted with this initiative that brings together the largest transit expansion in generations with new rental housing that is urgently needed in Toronto. This project will build on Forum’s 30-year history of delivering high-quality rental housing and our experience partnering with the public sector to deliver complex, city-building infrastructure. We’re excited to deliver this transit-oriented community that will add new homes and commercial space, while respecting the history and character that define the vibrant King and Bathurst neighbourhood.” – Aly Damji, Managing Partner, Real Estate, Forum Asset Management
Our government is protecting Ontario by working with municipalities and trusted building partners like Forum to build transit-oriented communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe, which could deliver up to 292,000 new homes and support over 84,000 jobs closer to transit. The transit-oriented community at King West Station will deliver up to 680 new housing units in downtown Toronto, making it faster and easier for residents to connect directly to the Ontario Line and TTC streetcar service, reducing traffic congestion and increasing transit ridership.” – Todd McCarthy, Ontario’s Acting Minister of Infrastructure
